Rules and regulations

 

The Library's role is to provide a quality service in a caring and friendly environment and the various regulations are not designed to penalise the conscientious user

Library Cards

Material cannot be borrowed from the Library without a valid library card

Remember you are responsible for all items issued on your card

General Behaviour

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the library in accordance with UCP Marjon's No Smoking Policy. Anyone found engaged in this activity will be asked to leave.

Eating and drinking is allowed whilst in the library. However hot food is not permitted and drinks should be in lidded containers. Anyone found not adhering to this regulation will be asked to leave.

Mobile phone use is discouraged and restricted to the stairwells

Defacing and vandalising books is a serious breach of regulations that will involve the University College disciplinary procedure

Security System

A security system is in operation in the library, should this be activated on your departure from the Library you are asked to co-operate fully with the library staff. Readers who bring bags, cases, portfolios etc. into the library may be required to open them for inspection A closed circuit television surveillance system in also in operation and any user identified as committing an offence will be subject to the University College disciplinary procedure
