The Guardian and Observer archive search
Can be used to access articles which appeared on the network from September 1st 1998. Type into the 'search this site' text box the keyword(s) which best describe the report you are looking for. You can select to search a particular date, month or year.Click on the 'Search' button.Click on the headline to view the report.

Has a searchable archive as far back as 1994. You will need to register for this service though it is FREE OF CHARGE.To search the archives:Click on 'Search' from the tool bar at the top of the page.Type into the text box the words or phrase which best describe the report you are looking for.Click on the 'find' button.The search engine will display a list of hits. Click on the headline to view the report.
Can be used to access articles as far back as January 1996.Unfortunately The Times now charges to access the full text, charging £1 per day for newspaper articles access. To search the archives is still free, but users can expect to pay £1 per archived article (minimum payment £10) Click on 'Archive' in the top left hand corner.Scroll down and click on 'Free Search'. Enter your search details and click on 'Search'. The results will display the first line of the article.
