International Foundation Programme

Introduction

The International Foundation Programme is designed to prepare students for further study at the University College Plymouth St Mark & St John (UCP Marjon).
This programme is ideal for students who would like to study at UCP Marjon but who cannot yet fulfil all the academic and/or English language entry requirements. Students follow a flexible programme which prepares them for study at undergraduate level and beyond. Students work on improving their competence in the English language whilst adapting to the conventions and expectations of a UK Institution of Higher Education.

Duration

The International Foundation Programme is 8 month in duration, January – September.

Entry Requirements

You must have graduated from year 12 of your high school in your own country with a good grade point average (GPA). The minimum language requirement is IELTS 4.5 (or equivalent).

Applications are made directly to the International Foundation Programme at the UCP Marjon and not through UCAS. We will only accept original documents or photocopies which have been translated into English certified as authentic copies of the originals. It is possible to apply for both the International Foundation Programme and your chosen degree programme at the same time and if accepted a joint offer letter will be issued for the two programmes.

Module Information

Your modules will be taught through a combination of lectures, small group seminars and individual tutorials. In addition to time spent in the classroom, students are expected to undertake homework and private study, which is an important part of work at degree level.

• Studying in UK Higher Education
• Subject-specific study
• Information Technology for Academic Purposes

Assessment for all modules is ongoing and continuous consisting of tests and assignments.

Fees and Funding

£6,900 for 2010/11 Academic year

You will be required to pay a deposit first in order to register on a course and receive the Confirmation of Acceptance of Study (CAS) for your Visa application. The rest of your fee can be paid during the first week of the programme. Information on how you can pay your fees will be sent to you when you accept an offer to join the Programme.
