BA (Hons) Management and Business Communication
Introduction
The programme is designed for international students who seek to develop knowledge and understanding of management and leadership and become expert users of English as a Foreign Language in professional domains. A valuable aspect of the programme in both the second and final year is the opportunity for students to engage in a work based independent study project that will combine work related experience in a UK business with an assessed research project.

Academic English Preparation Course prior to the BA Management and International English programme.
Module Information
Year One - You will focus on how the concept of management was developed and on contemporary issues in management, whilst developing the professional, language and academic skills that will enable you to succeed in your degree. Your programme will include visits to local companies.
Year Two - As well as developing intercultural communication skills in English you will spend more time studying business subjects, such as: Marketing Management; Managing a Small Business and Human recourses. You can undertake a work placement in a local organisation and may also “shadow” employees in order to gain insights into work practices.
Year Three - The main focus is on the acquisition of management concepts and tools, subject disciplines underpinning management studies and knowledge of the business environment in cross-cultural contexts. A study project will provide students with the opportunity to engage in a live case study and in problem solving skills. At the same time you will be developing more sophisticated skills in the use of English for professional purposes.
