Additional Information
What the students say:
Brilliant course from beginning to end! I didn’t realise that I enjoyed maths that much until I got here. The teaching was first rate and really explored all topics in depth with varied activities and discussions. The tutors were always available for questions and to help further understanding and great company during coffee breaks! Assessments were well thought out and challenging and often combined some element geared towards teaching. All in all I couldn’t think of better preparation for PGCE and would heartily recommend any student to come on a SKE course here at UCP Marjon prior to their PGCE regardless of their knowledge and experience.
Saikat (MEC student 2011)
I have really enjoyed the MEC at UCP Marjon, the material was interesting and the atmosphere around the University College is great. I thought that the assignments were suitably challenging whilst also teaching us key skills that we are bound to use next year. The online resources are great and I really appreciate the work that the staff have put in to support throughout the course. Overall a lot of fun and great preparation for the PGCE next year.
Ollie (MEC student 2011)
This course has been thoroughly enjoyable. Prior to this course, I thought that my understanding of maths was good anyway. However I found that I pretty much leant something new everyday. This is an excellent course that I would recommend to anyone. It brings students up to the same level and doesn’t discriminate students’ backgrounds.
