Preparation for interview
In order to prepare for the interview, all applicants for English are asked to:
- Access/read the National Curriculum for KS3 English on the QCA National Curriculum website www.qca.org.uk
- Access /read the National Curriculum for KS3/KS4 English on www.nc.uk.net

Access and read a summary of the main points of “ Training our next generation of outstanding teachers: an important strategy for discussion “ DFE-00054-2011 June 2011.
There are many web links that discuss the main points so read at least 2 of these.
Applicants are asked to choose from one of the three Attainment Targets as detailed in the National Curriculum for English - that is one from Reading , Writing, Speaking and Listening - and to talk about what you have found of interest /importance on a 5 minute presentation using PowerPoint facilities.
Applicants will also be asked to discuss an unseen poem in an informal way with the interviewers.
