Sixteen UCP Marjon catering staff were presented with their NVQ Level 2 awards on Tuesday 24th March.  The 16 members of staff were assessed over a 6 month period to show competence in all areas of hospitality linked to their job role including health and safety, customer service, team work and dealing with payments.

Michelle Brown, Catering Manager said:

“I am delighted to see that so many of our staff want to develop themselves.  This is a great result for all of their hard work”

Lynn Dean, Staff Development Coordinator said:

“UCP Marjon are aware that a nationally recognised qualification can add to the self esteem of staff.  It is also widely accepted that staff that have been properly trained are more motivated, more productive and tend to stay in the employment where they carried out their training.  We have recently celebrated 25 years of service from two of our catering staff”.

This week also saw two UCP Marjon cleaning staff receive their Cleaning NVQ awards.
